Clean Water Initiative – Kyamujumbi Community Borehole Project

The Kwezi Child Foundation (KCF), in partnership with the Luena Foundation and the Sumar Lakhani Foundation, successfully supported the construction of a borehole to provide access to clean and safe water for the Kyamujumbi community.

This important project has had a significant impact on improving the quality of life for local residents. Prior to the borehole’s construction, access to clean water was limited, forcing community members to travel long distances or rely on unsafe water sources. Today, the borehole serves not only the Kyamujumbi community but also three surrounding communities that depend on it as their primary source of safe water.

By improving access to clean water, the project has helped reduce the risk of waterborne diseases, supported better hygiene practices, and eased the daily burden—especially for children and women who often bear the responsibility of collecting water.

KCF remains committed to working with partners and communities to implement sustainable solutions that improve health, dignity, and overall well-being.
